I am OFFICIALLY DONE PUMPING y’all!!! This is so exciting. Two babies and over a year of exclusive pumping combined, y’all have no idea how good it felt to put my pumps away and get my freedom back. For those of you who have exclusively pumped before, you know how exhausting it is. It’s a lifestyle on its own.

Read MoreHola! This is probably what I get asked the most by new moms - How do you exclusively pump? Why do you do it? How does it work? How often do you have to pump? How much do you pump? When I started out, I had no idea what I was doing and pieced together information from internet searches. Here is all of the information you need in one place – what exclusive pumping is, the pros and cons of exclusive pumping vs nursing, and how to exclusively pump breast milk.
Read MoreMy postpartum experience with Zidaan was filled with a lot of surprises. As a first time mom, I didn’t know how real the exhaustion, hormones and postpartum pain could be. The first week hit me hard due to challenges with breastfeeding, lack of sleep and fluctuating hormones. When I found out I was pregnant with Aiyla, I knew I wanted postpartum life to be something I looked forward to.
Read MoreMy little girl is here! Little Aiyla made her appearance this Monday at 11:38 am. My story this time around was a little unexpected and the complete opposite of my labor with my firstborn, Zidaan.
The story starts off on my 37th week appointment last Thursday.
Read MoreWhen I was pregnant with Z, I was still a noob when it came to pregnancy. I was still figuring out what I needed vs. what I wanted. This pregnancy, I’ve been pretty frugal with how much I spend on maternity items.
Read MoreI didn’t think I would be writing about my second pregnancy this soon, but here we are. I’ve been wanting to do updates like I did with Zidaan, but have been extremely lazy about it. Better to start now than never!
Read MoreAs toddler moms, we’re always looking for the next best activity to keep your little one busy. Ebad and I are pretty good about not buying too many toys, but I do read lots of reviews when I do invest in one. More than just a toy, I want it to be an activity that Zidaan can enjoy and do multiple things with.
Read MoreI’ve traveled quite a bit, but I can definitely say that I’ve never been anywhere like Iceland. Iceland is the perfect destination for a seasoned traveler, a first time solo traveler, or an adventurous couple looking to road trip around the island.
Read MoreI've already written about my experience traveling with Zidaan. I've done over 30 flights with him in his short little lifetime including 4 international ones - I considered myself somewhat of a pro at traveling with a baby. That is, until I had to travel with him recently. Traveling with an immobile baby vs traveling with an active mobile toddler is VASTLY different.

Read MoreRamadan starts in a couple days! Every year Ramadan comes around, it feels like Eid was just yesterday. Although Zidaan is only 15 months old and won't remember much of anything till he's about 4, I want to start creating memories I can capture for him during Ramadan to show him when he's older. Ramadan was always special in our house growing up.
Read MoreI have had a lot of people ask me to write about this. This is quite a personal topic so I've hesitated for a while. Judgements on decisions like these are plentiful, but alas, here are my honest thoughts.
Read MoreSince I'm about 3 months behind on posting an update of what Zidaan has been up to, here's a quick catch up.

Read MoreIt was at Zidaan's 5 months appointment that we were sent home with a blessing from our pediatrician to go forth and “start solids.” Yay, fun! You’ll go home and realize that you have NO idea what the hell you’re doing. I mean, shouldn’t the doctor give you an instruction manual — or something!? What do I feed the baby? What's the best first food?
Read MoreZidaan has been no stranger to traveling. His first flight was from Houston to Michigan when he was about 6 weeks. This was just a short flight from Houston to Detroit and Ebad was with me. I remember sitting in the airport, baby on my lap gurgling away, our gear overflowing onto the adjacent seats and floor. The baby bag was stuffed with enough baby clothes and miscellaneous supplies to last a month.
Read MoreWhen I was pregnant, I had full intention of breastfeeding exclusively and assumed I would get a perfect latch for the first year. Why would it be tough? Women have been doing it since the beginning of time.
Read MoreRecently, I had a new mom-to-be reach out to me telling me she's positive she has gotten everything she and her child will need for the next year. She's done her diligent research and she's confident she won't be spending another dollar on baby related items. Bless her heart.
